5 Reads to Get You Through the Working Week

1. NEW YEAR, NEW YOU. Instead of creating restrictive resolutions, I am focusing on how I want to feel in 2018, (thank you Danielle LaPorte) and then creating three mini goals each month to support those intentions. The WW Club has a brilliant strategic plan to Make it Work in 2019.

2. I took a two week Instagram hiatus after former Facebook President Sean Parker now famously said, “God only knows what it’s doing to our children’s brains.” and hearing that most of the co-founders of both Facebook and Instagram are no longer on social media themselves. The result? I am a bit repulsed by Instagram and the manufactured sizzle reel of my friends, yet I miss the easy flow of fashion and wellness news from the publications, companies and bloggers I follow. Truthfully, I wish I could stay off it forever, but need to be in the know for work. Perhaps a fake creeper account is in my future? Either way, for now, I am limiting scrolls to once a day.

3. Iceland has made it illegal to pay men more than women. "This legislation made the Nordic island nation, population 334,252, the first country in the world to ban pay discrimination on the basis of gender." Small but mighty, cheers to Iceland!

4. Recreational pot is now legal in California (select cities) with line up's similar to Black Friday. California is now the largest market for legal cannabis and the sixth state to bring the black market out from hiding.

5. Sending this to my mother....
